Restaurant Muru was founded by a group of friends in 2010, with the aim of making a good job for themselves and the best restaurant possible for their friends. Over the years, Muru has become an absolute classic in Helsinki. Muru is known for its good food, great wines and uncompromising passion for customer service.
Muru’s owners and founders Henri Alén, Timo Linnamäki and Samuil Angelov, together with Chef Karoliina Narkiniemi and Restaurant Manager Tiia Mikkonen, plan daily how we can surprise our guests today.

The ideology of Samuil Angelov, sommelier at Muru, is uncompromising. Whether it’s a cheap wine or a more expensive one, it has to stand for something and be pure in character. However, only the wines produced with uncompromising professionalism by personal producers make it onto the wine list. Many wines are also served by the glass, so you can try several wines during the evening if you wish. Our chilled rooftop cellar contains hundreds of options with a greater emphasis on the old wine world.

In our cosy bar, you can stop for a drink and enjoy a cheese or a home-made sandwich. If you’ve got a really bad wine tooth, ask for our cellar list. Wine Spectator awarded Muru’s wine list with the Best of Award of Excellence on 1.9.2017.
